ORIGINAL POST: As a wedding planner, I know that weddings follow a basic format. The exchange of vows is followed by a celebration. Yet each wedding is as individual as the couple being married. It is the little details that make the difference. More and more brides and grooms are seeking ways to individualize the ceremony and reception to reflect more accurately their personalities and tastes. Here are some ideas.
* Place paper leaves attached to a piece of ribbon at each place setting. Guests would be asked to write a wish for the couple on the leaves and hang on a bare-branched tree.
* Have a family get-together the day after the wedding. Couples often delay their honeymoons a day or two in order to spend time visiting with relatives and friends ... especially those from out of town.
* Ask your caterer to create a one-of-a-kind buffet that includes recipes taken from the bride's family cookbook. Place a card next to each dish bearing the name of the recipe and name of the relative from whom it came.
The ways to personalize a wedding are as many and varied as your imagination.
